Won my first buckle 2010 year end #4 and under. Mike won the 5 and over. Two happy guys. Going to try and win the saddle the 11&12 at downing. The horse that got me there Monte mans our best friend.

As all of you know I love dogs, this is old rout. One of the best coondogs we had growing up. still have not found tobin or kodiak by the way.This old seller hill i'm sitting has to be the best spot in the world for gossip,chat,what ever. I still think they use this spot, but they can't sit were i'm sitting because mom planted cactus there so it would grow grass .

By the way what ever happened to kids playing cowboys and indians?That was one of our favorite games,and boy did we have a good time. the hills,barns,ditches,sky the limit they had a hard time keeping track of us. See the horse in this pic. this is the only horse i've been bucked off of,run over by more times then I can remember.

winter ! sleding,icefishing,coyote hunting,coon hunting,bobcat hunting, deer hunting,cutting wood, working in the shop. All is good until you talk cold weather,busting ice,high winds that seem to never stop. I'd should just pack up and move to the dakota's then i'd expect the wind/cold.
Plus I could do some good calling,hunting,poole playing,and once in while have a stiff drink. what do you do in the winter for fun.

Busy, busy, busy ever feel that way. Let me catch up on the past 2 months roping started. like I said started with the rain every other day lots of rainouts. Ball that takes some time, Bree I don't know how you do it. Vacation, that was great, lots of fun in ND. Trying to find a way back to ND. YOU never hear anyone say "man I wish I could go back to work ". Emma got a new pony that she likes some times you know emma mood swing city. Andrea got a new dog that she likes sometimes you know mood swing city. just kidding she loves her dog. Hog cutting, Fathers day, Fishing, hot weather, and work. That's the story and I'm stickin to it. Hives

thursday night i got something i don't want to get agian, the hives. don't know what i got into or ate but it didn't like me. so now i'm watching and remembering everything i eat and do so if it happens agian maybe i'll know. these are pics. five hours later after i got a shot in the butt. that i really didn't want since I hate needles. But it helped and some spots went away.

We had lots of fun riding horses ,fishing all in all great fun. till sunday night the flu hits and trust me that is never any fun. but have you ever noticed no one feels worse than you when your sick. Colby and I decided to go fishing this sunday because he is slowly coming out of lockdown. we tried a couple of ponds but no luck so we tried our new pond to see how big the fish are getting HUGE is the word colby used. we caught 16 crapie and 2 bass they were very nice. Here is a pic. of the bass and crapie. he seems to be happy.

The new Beach is what come to mind when colby and I returned from fishing. Emma told me that she needed some shade in the yard so she planted some shade. Only Emma! Is what I thought...had to show andrea, she thought something had to be going on when Emma went by the window with the umbrella. till next time vance

spring Fever

Hopeful we have seen the last snow for the winter so we made the best of it by giving rides on the sled behind the 4-wheeler.the kids had alot of fun about all they could say is go faster or emma would say colby fell off I think she had something to do with that.

A fifty degree day in march is like a eighty degree day in may you've gotta love it. so i've been out side doing some spring cleaning and fixing of my own. pic of the lights that work once agian in the garage. see there on.

ice storm in south missouri

this ice storm in south missouri can not be summed up into words, but if it was the only one that I can think of is tragic. This a pics. of a dog at JD Plunkett's one of the happy customers we got power to while in hytie mo. This was one of the few animals we saw down there. notice the downed powerlines in bottom of the pic.

This was a great moment the pole that i am on below has a transformer on it that feeds one light down the street in the town of hayward while tying it in i hooked the light up on the way down. two days later when we turned the power back on to some people, low and behold i see the light come on. talk about a good feeling. the next day on the way to work on another piece of line the words Thank You were wrote on a cardboard box set at the side of the road. Those words made everything worth it.

Roping fever

I think I have roping fever,so i'm going to try my luck friday night in a ten head match roping in Iowa. this winter has been so long and cold that I just have not had anytime to rope or just do anything with the horses besides feed them. I keep thinking warm weather is just around the corner maybe next week. here's some roping pic's from this past summer.

The big talk latey is western cattle for those of you that asked him what he wanted for christmas was western bull and cow. guess what ya your right the real thing is now on the list for his birthday. So everyone let's see you come up with a herd of herford cows and a bull by may. He's a blast to work with. Someday he'll be a good aset to the farm, he's already a huge help. see he's aready learning how to drive the tractor.

he's got a hayrack and a good boss. this is the hayrack we redone this summer.

He's got the pen's to hold his cows,and the boss right behind making sure things are done right.

Sunday was a great day for fishing also and we caught a lot of fish almost a full five gallon bucket full. here some pics. that everyone likes to see. Don't let the pic. with the bucket mess you up there was another bucket to.

this is the final result yummy.

this is Emma's little pony we finally got her weaned and home so she can spoil her. she tells me she will take care of her every day we'll see. she also rode along when we picked her up tonight. she looks like a fuzzy little fur ball with legs short legs.

ice fishing

colby and I had a mans day,andrea stay at home emma went to a freinds house to spend the night so we took off. hunting and fishing caught half of a five gallon bucket full of fish. fun was had by all going agian today. For all of my readers that have a pond and like fishing there are some ponds in the area that have wormy fish. These are not really worms but leaches that bery in the fish and make you not want to eat then, but with this information we can stop the leaches.First and only go get some "RED EAR BLUEGILL" these will break the cycle of the leaches. thought i'd give a helpful tip. off to church then fishing agian. till then

cold weather

Hi i'm back online. didn't know how i'd miss it so much.Right now it's -2 and aka freakin cold. Feed,strawed and watered the animals tonight and i think they all showed there thanks to me tonight. the dogs barked,calves played in the straw and of course the horses all give a nudge. Andrea made soup for supper, nothing beats a bowl of soup when it's cold. Almost forgot runt got to sleep in the garage. All alot of b.s. but andrea got here first and done emma's birthday so I'm left a blank, but emma loved the rose I got for for b-day .till then.

Welcome to the Horse World

This is Andrea's first horse,she got it the day I came back from my trip. Yes that was a freak mistake,because I had this in the plans for years.Not a suckup gift for being gone. She had said all I want is a palamio if I have one of my own. So last fall while fixing a sec. light at work this lady told me about her horses and the breeding behind them. She also told me there was a good chance the mare she had throw one,so I told her if she threw a stud colt I would take it. Needless to say she called the day I headed out for my trip. So when I got she got her horse She named him Hank great name sure beats butter. So here he is broke to lead and tie.

looks like one proud owner to me!

maybe if i'm lucky he'll turnout to be a great heel horse for hmm

CCTR Trip

Here are a couple of pics. from my trip this fall. First is of me crossing the jacksfork river. It was very cold everyday but fun, plus got a cool picture with my horse. He loved the water.

Gus a good friend of mine took me on the trip it was one heck of a trip seen alot of county and met alot of nice people. the group below is the group we camped with and rode with not to mention grew up with. We had a hoot of a time doing this pic. We were gone 8 days leaving the wife at home doing chores and building the house thanks honey. Going back next year. thought I would share some pic. that I learned to put on the blog so watch out more to come.

The pic. on the top of my blog is a pic. of our many horses but not all of them. thought it was pretty cool andrea took it when colby and i turned the pony's out. also she helped put it up top because i'm not that talented "yet". hope everyone had a great day till then.

I was sitting thinking about what to post so here goes. A blog is like a thirty min. sitcom, everyone sits down to view whats going on in everyone else's lives at the moments. Seinfield for example they sit in a coffee shop talk about everyday life,what,happen to you, what happened to them and so on. Posting to me is that way. I like the different idea's people come up with that I can use in my own life. posting is also a break, a relaxing moment that I can use when I need a break. what do you think
